Seventy-Five Years

Holding his lady.
Married seventy-five years.
On deathbed he lies,
vows honored until the end.
A portrait of love, endures.

Author’s note:  This piece is dedicated to my nanna, 95 years old, and my grandfather “Bill” who passed away in June 2015. They had a truly remarkable and inspiring love; married more than 75 years! I can’t even imagine the bond they shared. Nanna claims he still visits her every night in her dreams, asking her when she will join him 💜💙💚

      1. oh I have met quite a few elderly couples married 60+ years still madly in love .. I think they had less choices then so had to work on their marriage, now days it’s too easy to divorce ;(

  1. Oh wow…oh wow, oh wow–this is wonderfully moving. I can’t imagine a marriage lasting so long–what a blessing–and that he still comes to her in her dreams….oh my, how lovely!
