Gone

Holding broken dreams,
I weep for you as tears fall
through my bloodstained hands.

It’s hard to let go
of someone you never met,
but love so fiercely.

Too fragile for life –
a tiny heartbeat in time.
And then you were gone…

Author’s Note: A triple haiku, as this week marks the six year anniversary of my last miscarriage and the end of all hope I ever had of being a mother. A fitting choice of words for me, from Ronovan this week? 😔 Must be a “thing” as last year, this very same week, I wrote Bloodline using Ronovan’s words, “miracle” and “save”. Oh what bitter irony…
