Glimmering dew
upon verdure with outstretched limbs.
Glimmering dew
sheds fresh tears for a day anew.
Caught upon threads of silky whims,
clinging to flowers’ colourful rims.
Glimmering dew.

Author’s Note: The Rondelet is a French form consisting of a single septet with two rhymes and one refrain: AbAabbA. The capital letters are the refrains, or repeats. The refrain is written in tetra-syllabic or dimeter and the other lines are twice as long – octasyllabic or tetrameter.

I agree. Syllabic forms are much easier to work with. I am trying out a lot of new poetry forms because of NaPoWriMo. I have found Shadow Poetry to be an excellent resource for both traditional and invented poetry forms. They give clear examples and explain the structure in an easy to understand way 😊 http://www.shadowpoetry.com/resources/wip/types.html

Amazing! You’ve entirely conquered the form! Actually, I just uploaded a ‘Rondelet’ of my own onto my blog. It’s linked below. I’d love it if you would read over it and leave me some tips on how to improve. With your incredible writing technique, I’m sure I can learn a lot from you. Thanks!
