Lake George Wine Region

At Easter, we completed a self-guided tour of some of the Lake George wine region near Canberra. I came across some interesting doors at some of the cellar doors we visited…

I would highly recommend Mt Majura Wines, Collector Wines, Lerida Estate and Contentious Character. Amazing service, delicious wine and divine ambience. If you’re in the area, they are well worth checking out!

Avoid one particular winery in the area, at all costs! I won’t name it because that’s not very nice, however, we were treated with unbelievable rudeness and made to feel most unwelcome. If it wasn’t so bad, it would be funny! I wish we’d checked their TripAdvisor reviews first – 15/29 were rated as “Terrible” and we were certainly on the receiving end of finding out why!

Luckily we finished on a high with the lovely Tony at Contentious Character more than making up for it and saving the day for us!

  1. You had me at “wine” 😉
No doubt are some great wineries producing high-quality wines in that region. Such a shame when some places just don’t understand the critical role that CUSTOMERS play in helping them stay in business. I have no patience for companies that treat their customers poorly.

    1. It frustrates me when people work in hospitality and clearly don’t enjoy it. I LOVE customer service and have worked both retail and hospitality prior to becoming a teacher. The pattern of behaviour from this woman was nothing new unfortunately…maybe an admin or behind the scenes job would be more her forte…
