Free Verse, Poetry by Sarah

Fall

One last assault,
as we run towards the finish line.
I can’t afford to fall.

But
I
do.

As I sail to the ground,
my knees nudging the earth,
I realise I am their puppet.

It’s too deep-seated –
and I have no case for change.
So I find myself a bar instead…

  1. Sadly with friendships this is sometimes the way, My mind went back to childhood and being youngest of a group of boys. I was always the one pushed into the nettles! I think it made me stronger,

It may be difficult to fight back sometimes. However, creating a defence is a clever alternative. Nice write Sarah!
