The pain is exquisite.
Flesh opens as sharp metal slices;
Tearing through tough exteriors,
revealing spongy insides.
Tears splash earth below.
As bounty is snatched and plucked.
Left; bare and exposed
With a promise –
After pruning, comes rejuvenation.
Always.

great take on the Sunday Writing Prompt Sarah – 🙂
I like how you’ve worded this – it plays well because it speaks of human flesh, but in essence, it translates into the harsh reality of needing to prune and cut back, dead or diseased wood, or just to promote better growth – the universal translation of gardening, as it can be applied to our humanly existence – so great job and clever word play. 😀
thanks for playing the prompt this week –
