Dinner Interrupted

animal heads bowed
friends graze the juicy green fields
in peaceful sunshine

until voyeurs toot their horn
interrupting dinnertime

My friend and I got lost following our GPS up a fire track and we stumbled upon these beautiful beasts calmly grazing. I think the window/door of the car, frames them perfectly. But we definitely interrupted their dinner.

  1. Nice one, they certainly are having a good look at you, looks like an NZ scene.
Hope you found your way back home. GPS can cause problems at times.
Thanks for a nice tanka poem.
    Have a nice week.

    1. Thank you. 😊 I agree, it looks a lot like NZ…especially the South Island! We learnt a valuable lesson about GPS that day and thankfully made it home (after ending up in someone’s backyard!)
